Dangerously ill after attempting to climb the world’s second tallest peak in 1993, Mortenson was sheltered in a remote Pakistani village for seven weeks. He promised to return and build them a school. Coauthor Relin chronicles Mortenson’s amazing efforts which have resulted in the construction of more than 50 schools across rural Pakistan and Afghanistan. Prayer: Does It Makes a Difference? by Philip Yancey

Prayer: Does It Make a Difference? is an invitation to pray to a Father who sees what lies ahead of us and wants to commune with us, even to the extent of giving us influence with him. Yancey gives a convincing portrayal of a God who wants to know us for who we really are, who welcomes argument and struggle, and who invites us into an eternal partnership in his work—through prayer.
