First Church-Tupelo recognizes the importance of people being connected to and loving others in the name of Christ.
Family Life
Community...

People are in search of closeness, love, fellowship, meaning, and relationship. Each person needs what the church has to offer - a community.

  • Wednesdays at First Church: meal served at 5:30 p.m. with programming for adults, youth and children following the meal. August - April
  • 'First Family' Fun nights: a time to get together with the church family to have fun. Offered through-out the year.
  • Fall Church Picnic
  • Chili cook-off (winner represents the church at the downtown competition)
  • Basketball leagues for all ages

Above are just a few of the ways to share together in community.

Relationship

The relationship with God is primary. Relationships with others are at the center of what it means to function as a church.

...'Love one another. As I have loved you...by this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.'(John 13:34-35)

First Church offers ways in which to cultivate relationships:

  • Trips to Lake Junaluska/white water rafting
  • Boating day at the lake
  • Baseball, theatre, amusement park trips

Check the calendar to see what's scheduled for this year!

Connection

As individuals begin to connect with others in the common bond of the Holy Spirit, whole new possibilities begin to emerge. Each person needs encouragement, teaching, love and fellowship in order to develop those connections. Ways to connect:

SUPPERS OF EIGHT - an ideal way in which to meet others in a small/home setting and share a meal! This is for adults(single, married, divorced, widowed), small groupings of 8-10 individuals, each group meets a total of 3 times and then the groups are re-shuffled. All groups meet on the same/night at the same time in order to provide child care at the church. "They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts."(Acts 2:46)

Adults only-childcare provided at the church. For more information call the church office.
